Dinu S. Malacopol joined Astral team – one of the most important providers of electronic communication integrated services in Romania, - in October 2003 as General Manager of Internet, Data and Television division, being one of the main promoters of the landline telephony network implementation on an IP support.

            

 

Dinu Malacopol returned in the corporatist domain, as part of Astral company, after 2 years of experience accumulated in the governmental field and after 14 years of activity in the IT and communication industry, both at national and international level. During all this time, he successfully represented national and international universal operators as RomTelecom and Bell Nexxia Canada and national cable providers (Cable Vision Romania).

 

At the same time, Dinu Malacopol became one of the most representative leaders of the IT&C Industry of Romania by introducing and promoting the latest technologies in this field and by building and managing long-term relationships with key suppliers and with customers. As well, he was actively involved in the development of the marketing departments of the companies in which he activated, building the operations and sales teams, developing organisational capabilities in the purchasing and marketing operational fields, helping the organisation to grow from the scratch to one of the market's major players.

 

Between 2001 and 2002 he joined the Government Team as Secretary of State in the Romanian Ministry for Communications and IT being involved in setting up and promoting the telecom market regulations related to Romanian legislation for the IT&C sector.

 

Dinu Malacopol is a Magna Cum Laude graduate of the University of Ottawa and HEC Montreal MBA program. With a MScEE major in Telecommunications and a Marketing/Strategy MBA, his extensive 19 years background in telecommunications and information technology marketing includes: establishing strategic core differentiation and winning marketing strategy; the applying organisational re-engineering by turning the company into a client-focused one; organisation reshaping and innovation, marketing and customer-oriented initiatives.
