Agreement in the Radio Spectrum Field between the Administrations from Romania and the Republic of Moldova

28.06.2011

On Tuesday, 28 June, a bilateral meeting between the National Authority for Management and Regulation in Communications of Romania and the Ministry of Information Technology and Communications (MTIC) of the Republic of Moldova was held.
Within this event, the representatives of the two institutions signed the Agreement on the coordination and distribution of preferential frequencies in the 380-385 / 390-395 MHz frequency bands for digital land mobile radiocommunication systems.
This agreement aims mainly at creating the proper framework for the operation and development of radiocommunication systems in border areas and at harmonising the use of the radio frequency spectrum with the European requirements.
This document, alongside the Memorandum of Understanding signed early this month between the National Authority for Management and Regulation in Communications and the National Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Information Technology (ANRCETI), strengthen the relationship between Romania and the Republic of Moldova in the field of regulation and surveillance of the activities in the electronic communications and postal sectors.
