As part of the official visits organised by the Romanian Government to the Persian Gulf states, the President of ANCOM, Valeriu ZGONEA, signed this afternoon with his counterpart from the United Arab Emirates the Memorandum of Understanding on facilitating cooperation and information exchange in the field of electronic communications between the National Authority for Management and Regulation in Communications of Romania (ANCOM) and the Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority of the United Arab Emirates (TDRA).
The Memorandum sets out the necessary framework for cooperation and exchange of experience between the two institutions in areas such as electronic communications, satellite regulatory policy (including the monitoring of satellite frequencies), radio spectrum management and monitoring, and other electronic communications regulatory matters of mutual interest.
The Memorandum also provides the possibility to organize regular or ad‑hoc discussions to examine technical, legal, or other relevant aspects of regulatory activities and spectrum management. Under this memorandum, the two authorities will cooperate and may exchange experience and information regarding their activities and the electronic communications markets in both countries, with the two parties organizing meetings, conferences, seminars, training sessions, and workshops, according to needs.
The regulatory authority for electronic communications in the United Arab Emirates is one of ANCOM’s long‑standing dialogue partners within the United Nations, where both institutions remain actively engaged in supporting projects of common interest.
