ANRCTI Eliminates Tariffs for the Achievement of Radioamateur Certificate and Radio-Professional Certificate

01.11.2007

Today, on November 1, 2007, comes into force the Decision no.3173/2007 on the amendment of the Decision of the President of the General Inspectorate for Communications and Information Technology no.660/2005 on the approval of the Radiocommunications Regulation for amateur service in Romania and the Decision no.3174/2007 on the amendment of the Decision of the President of the General Inspectorate for Communications and Information Technology no.699/2005 on the approval of the Regulation for the personnel operating the radiocommunications stations in Romania. The two decisions were published in the Romanian Official Journal no.730 of October 29, 2007.

The decisions have been amended so that the persons intending to achieve a radioamateur certificate or a radio-professional operator certificate shall not pay anymore the tariffs charged at present for the examination and prolongation of the certificates.

In order to certify radioamateurs, ANRCTI organises, on average, 2 examinations per year. In Romania, there are approx. 5,000 radioamateurs, with ages ranging from 6 to 90. ANRCTI granted 14,000 certificates to radio-professional operators (aerial and sea navigation personnel), out of which 893 were granted in 2007.

The decisions are available for consultation here.
