The frequency usage fee applicable to temporary use of radio frequencies for radio microphones and in-ear monitors

In order to support the smooth running of major events in Romania, such as the European Football Championship UEFA 2020, ANCOM submits to public consultation a draft decision setting the frequency usage fee for the individual rights to be awarded for the temporary use of radio frequencies for certain applications specific to these events, such as radio microphones and in-ear monitors.

The proposed fee for the use of frequencies by radio microphones and in-ear monitors (IEM) was determined based on the spectrum usage fee for a 12.5 kHz radio channel assigned on a local level, in simplex operation mode, for mobile radio networks consisting of mobile and portable stations, in proportion to the number of 12.5 kHz channels included in the allotted bandwidth.

The frequency usage fee is charged per year, divided by the requested time periods, with a minimum charging period of one month.

Public consultation

The Draft Decision regarding the amendment of the frequency usage fee is available, here. The Authority deems the adoption of the proposed measures as a matter of urgency, therefore the consultation period is 14 days. Thus, the interested parties are invited to submit their comments and suggestions, by 11 November 2019, at the ANCOM headquarters (2 Delea Noua Street, Bucharest 3), directly to the ANCOM Registry Office or by means of ANCOM’s regional divisions. Comments may also be sent by fax to +40 372 845 402 or by e-mail to consultare@ancom.org.ro.
